(old MTR's are "C" rated in the 15" rim and "E" on the 17" rim) and so far the the sidewalls look good and there is no chunking of the tread. They are a D rated tire like almost all 37/17's these days. I can tell this cos I have to lift my leg and ass higher to get into the truck now.:hmmm:Īlso one thing I liked about them before I bought them is they are 14 pounds lighter than my old tires (old ones were 13.50 wide) which means they require alot less power to roll them especially at 70 mph. Both 37's, no weight on them and not mounted on a wheel, the MTR's were over an inch taller. General: when I first got them I set one next to my old tires which 2 were brand new with a couple runs on them. Snow conditions are always different, even on the same day but I was definatle not disapointed with how they worked. The deep snow? well no one really dominated it but they seem to work. Never spun one on the compact snow and ice even though I did when I tried but just cruisin along they were very predictable. Latest run was the deep snow run, we travelled up the highway from Payson to the rim up to 65 MPH and they were smooth at all speeds.
(24 PSI)ĭry tires on dry rocks, next was Sunflower and all was dry, we played in the wash a bit and I did spin them but it was cos my big fat diffs were hittin every rock in there but they did hook up well when I kept the rest of the truck off the rocks.:agree: (8 PSI) On the way home I ran them up to 75 MPH down I17 and they were smooth the whole way. Also later on the same run I attempted a rock that was dry but in the middle of the creek. AZ granite is usually no the best traction so this really made me feel good. The slab was about 8' tall and fairly steep and the tires crawled it. Wet tires on dry rocks, first run out (Turkey Creek) a ¼ mile in the tires were wet, with a little mud on them, rock was dry so I thought I'd try a slab of granite that was part of a buggy play spot. In the mud (Turkey Creek), well I didnt really test them but they did "seem" to clean out easier than the old style tires on the same trip. On the road they are very quiet, they are round and smooth at all speeds up to 75 mph on beadlocks without airsoft pellets or balance of any kind. but after running them on all these types of terrain, I am very impressed with these tires so far. At first I wasnt sure what to think about the "assymetrical" tread with the aggressive tread on the outer half and inner shoulder and a A/T style inner row. So far I've had them in mud, wet rocks, dry rocks, compact snow and ice, and deep deep snow.
